As photography plays an ever-important role in the contemporary art scene, the material available to present images becomes richer and more diverse. Beside the traditional dark room enlargement by hand and c-print, and Ultragiclee, which has become popular in recent years, more types of different media, materials and methods have been utilized to create many works of photography.
Two artists in this exhibition, Lin Ran and Jin Ping, are two of the most active promoters and practitioners of this experimentation with new materials.
Lin Ran
Born in Chongqing, 1958. Now he lives and works in Chengdu, Sichuan Province.
Start his career as a photographer in 1980.

Jin Ping
Born in Yibin, Sichuan province, Jin Ping currently resides in Chengdu, Sichuan province. He is the Vice Chairperson of Sichuan Photographers Association.
